I work part time at HeartCells Foundation, where I have the privilege of speaking with patients and families whose lives have been transformed by the charity's work. I hear from people daily who have been told they have no other treatment options, only to be given renewed hope through the groundbreaking stem cell therapy at the charity’s compassionate unit in St Bartholomew's Hospital. 

If you know me, you'll know that running is definitely not my thing! I've never run more than a 5K before, so taking on this challenge is well outside my comfort zone. But every mile I run is for the patients and families facing far greater challenges than I ever will on race day.
