Heart Cells Foundation Ambassador Barry Newman Featured on BBC Make A Difference with Gaby Roslin

The Heart Cells Foundation is delighted to share that our long-standing supporter and patient ambassador, Barry Newman, was recently featured on the BBC’s national Make A Difference programme hosted by Gaby Roslin.

Barry was recognised with a prestigious BBC Make A Difference Award in honour of his tireless advocacy and fundraising efforts supporting the work of the Heart Cells Foundation. Since receiving pioneering stem cell therapy at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, Barry has dedicated himself to raising awareness of heart failure and championing the potential of regenerative medicine to transform lives.

The interview formed part of the BBC’s weekly Make A Difference programme, broadcast every Sunday afternoon across all 29 BBC Local Radio stations throughout the UK. Hosted by Gaby Roslin, the programme celebrates inspiring individuals and community champions who are making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

During the interview, Barry spoke passionately about his personal journey, the impact stem cell therapy has had on his life, and why he continues to support the mission of the Heart Cells Foundation to help make regenerative treatments more widely available for heart failure patients.
