Barry’s friends call him ‘Stem Cell Baz’ follow on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to follow his story.
HOT OFF THE PRESS!
Not deterred by the pouring rain Barry began his challenge, however, due to circumstances on the track beyond his control, ’Stem Cell Baz’ was forced to retire from the race. Barry will always be a winner to the Heart Cells Foundation. Never one to give up, Barry’s Heart Cells Foundation branded kart and helmet will see the track again!

- Barry Newman (56), from Wakefield, West Yorkshire was just 48 years old when, in 2014, he was rushed to hospital with breathing difficulties. Shockingly he was told his heart was only functioning at 13% and he was diagnosed with heart failure as a result of cardiomyopathy.
- His fragile condition made a heart transplant impossible, leaving him to confront the painful task of planning his own funeral, saying goodbye to his loved ones, including his son Robert.
- Barry received Stem Cell treatment in 2018 to treat his heart failure, transforming his life.
- Motivated by this second chance, August saw Barry attempting to break the Guiness World Record for the greatest distance travelling on an outdoor circuit in 24hrs while fundraising for the Heart Cells Foundation who he said has saved his life.
