Running for Hope, Family & Life-Changing Treatment

The Heart Cells Foundation is proud to announce that two inspiring runners — Robert Newman and Josh Spalding — will be taking on the London Marathon 2026 in support of pioneering stem cell treatment for people living with heart failure.

Both runners on Sunday 26th April are lacing up their trainers, in honour of family members who have received life-changing support through the charity’s groundbreaking treatment programme.

Running for a Father’s Second Chance – Robert Newman

Robert Newman’s motivation comes directly from seeing his father’s life transformed by Heart Cells Foundation’s treatment.

Running for Gratitude and Hope – Josh Spalding

For Josh Spalding, the mission is deeply personal. His stepfather recently received treatment through Heart Cells Foundation, and Josh has seen the impact first-hand.
